Desi - Homozygous Black Missouri Fox Trotter

Desi was born at the end of a very long 380 day gestation on 5/22/07. This colt is extraordinary. He is gentle and fun
loving, often entertaining himself with sticks he finds in the woods. He loves to play and he loves human contact. He is
curious and learns quickly. He has an excellent disposition for a stallion prospect.

He has a tank of a build - wide back and a nice chest and hip. He should mature to around 15H. He has a pretty head
and nice neck. We are pleased with his overall conformation to date - of course he is ever changing and growing in
spurts right now. These pictures were taken when he was 5 and 7 months old.

He has a nice animated foxtrotting gait and uses it quite frequently in play. He is naturally gifted and we expect this
ability will continue into his adult life.

Desi has been tested and is homozygous for the black gene. He went through some very bizzarre color changes since his
birth but he has now settled into a coal black color with his winter coat. He has enough chrome to help him stand out in a
crowd. We expect he will make an excellent stallion when he grows up due to his beautiful color, great breeding, and most
importantly, his excellent and fun loving disposition. Desi has all the qualities we want to see in a stallion. He has the
personality, rear end, and gait of his sire and the thicker body mass of his dam. Since he is homozygous for black, he will
always throw black based foals no matter the color of the mare. He is a product of our breeding program and we are very
happy with the results. We will update his pictures this Spring when he sheds out. He has changed quite a bit since these
foal pictures were taken last Spring. He no longer looks like the baby you see here - but instead we can now see the
stallion he will soon become. There are not very many homozygous black stallions in this breed and we believe Desi will
make a name for himself and become one of the favorites with mare owners.
